Composite Process Engineer

Sportsman Boats  is looking for an experienced Composite Process Engineer to provide technical support, documentation, training, audits, and continuous improvements for open mold, infusion, silicon bagging, and LRTM production processing.

What you will do:

• Provides technical support, training, and documentation to lamination departments.
• Specializes in lamination materials and processes used for open and closed molding.
• Works with engineering and quality departments to identify and implement standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develops and improves processes to enhance quality and eliminate rework.
• Trains and demonstrates best practices through guidance, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Documents and makes changes for fitment of lamination materials and to reduce rework and scrap.
• Coordinate new lamination materials and chemicals for testing, validation, and implementation of QA standards.
• Assist with lamination design, programming CNC machines and Bill of Materials.
• Document processes and flow to continuously improve the output of the departments.

To be considered you must have:

• 5 + years Lamination design and process expertise
• Ability to work in 3D models and drawings
• Strong work ethic, go-getter, with a positive attitude
• Excellent communicator
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and plan
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and follow instructions
• Ability to collaborate as a team member

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Mechanical or Engineering Degree
• Boat building experience
• Bilingual Spanish/English

This job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. This role routinely wears protective clothing and masks.
